For the GS-07:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes the following duties: 1) coordinating preventative maintenance and safety of equipment; OR 2) using surveying techniques and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
For the GS-08:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes the following duties: 1) Reviewing scopes of work covering civil engineering features on various civil work projects AND 2) Evaluating contract designs to ensure accuracy and conformance with construction specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
For the GS-09:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes the following duties: 1) Conducting field surveys AND 2) Preparing contracts and specifications, AND 3) Reviewing design criteria for maintenance and construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
