This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Category rating, veteran's preference, and traditional rating and ranking of applicants do NOT apply for this vacancy.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Providing technical guidance such as: design, development, test and evaluation, repair and modification of testing equipment for automotive systems; 2) Evaluating maintenance capabilities such as: weapon system failures, maintenance programs, performance data, and statistical information to make recommendations on repair of mechanical/electronic weapon systems;
OR 3) Examining failed parts from sources (e.g., automated diagnostic and test equipment, manufacturer's technical manuals, specifications, and maintenance records) to determine failures such as: mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service
(GS-10).
