GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operating equipment such as wide-format plotters, lettering equipment and label makers; performing day-to-day upkeep maintenance on printer, plotter, and other equipment.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes researching drawings cited by project name or number, contract number, facility, or other feature to determine the proper drawing required for the purpose; and managing engineering drawing database and computerized index, and collecting data, analyzing facility prints against existing conditions, and maintaining drawings.

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as engineering, engineering technology, or construction management, or related field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing prints and maintenance information; assist in the preparation of design drawings from detailed sketches provided by staff engineers, craftsmen, and contractors for construction modifications and writing specifications for reprographic equipment and systems.

GS-08 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes updating Project drawings using computer systems such as Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD), Advanced Modeling systems to reflect changed conditions; preparing documents for contract CADD services, tracking progress, and selecting methods for drawing distribution and quality control.

GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting data from files such as specifications, manuals, catalogs, design codes, and guides and reviewing contract documents of assigned projects.

GS-10 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing drafting software such as Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems and assist in the planning, drafting and completion of drafting assignments for assigned projects.

GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using computer aided engineering tools, such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop engineering products within an engineering team environment.
