To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Education - Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the
U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
For GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the private or public sector) performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Conducting standardized environmental health inspections and investigative methods to reduce environmentally related illness and injury risks. Contribute to the instruction of environmental health related training to reduce communicable diseases and injury.
OR
Completion of one (1) year of graduate level education,
or Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) in a field that is directly related to the work of this position. For information on S.A.A. go to:

OR
Combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.
For GS-9: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Implementation and management of field-based programs designed to identify, assess, and recommend mitigation strategies to prevent and eliminate environmental health hazards.
OR
2 years of progressively higher level education leading to a master's degree, or master's or equivalent graduate degree.
OR
Combination of education and experience are qualifying for this grade level. Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. Only education in excess of the first year of graduate level education may be used to qualify applicants for GS-9 positions.
Note: An academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. This determination is made based on normal course loads for a full year of study in the graduate program. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours or 27 quarter hours will be considered as satisfying the 1 year of full-time study requirement.
