SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience performing all or most of the following: planning, implementing, managing and/or evaluating environmental protection programs such as SPCC Plan, Storm Water Plan, P2 Plan, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, EPA Hazardous Waste, safe drinking water, asbestos and lead management and abatement, mercury reduction, etc.; administering a green environmental management program; performing environmental facility inspections to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; advising management on environmental program status; preparing environmental program reports; and training others on specific environmental topics.

EDUCATION - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

OR
COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience, as described above, which meets the total qualification requirement for the GS-11 grade level. Only education beyond the first two years of graduate education is creditable to substitute for experience at this grade level.

In addition to meeting the requirement above, the following experience is preferred:
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Conducting internal gap analyses of a green environmental management program; issuing reports of gap analyses and tracking status of corrective and preventative actions; and implementing or reviewing implementation of a green environmental management program's policy and procedures and reporting the status to safety and occupational health staff.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work includes frequent audits of waste storage areas and involves a good deal of walking, standing, bending and climbing.
