Duties
Leads discussions on environmental documents including Environmental Assessment (EA). Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Categorical Extensions (CATEXs). Records of Decision (ROD) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). Participates and provides guidance and leadership to forecasts future resource needs to manage emerging environmental issues. Oversees studies, surveys, and audits to identify environmental problems and provides corrective guidance in accordance with applicable laws and policy. Provides expert testimony and works directly with Legal Counsel on issues and guidance on environmental projects & initiatives. Trains lower level environmentalist in aviation specific environmental guidance to support FAA management and facilities. DoD proponents and Third Party developers on environmental regulations in accordance with F AAO I 050.1 E and FAA JO 7400.2K. Leads and provides expertise in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal and/state regulations as it relates to environmental reviews, aircraft noise analysis, and other NEPA policy relating items.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FG-14 level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience:Specialized experience includes experience with environmental programs and policies and preparing and/or reviewing environmental documents including Environmental Assessments (EAs), Environmental Impact Statements (EISs), Categorical Exclusions (CATEXs), Records of Decision (RODs) and Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSIs).
