The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Mission Delta 31 (MD31) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for an Equipment Specialist (NH-1670-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).
Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Equipment Specialist to serve as the logistical backbone for critical projects, acting as the primary guardian of equipment data throughout the complete lifecycle of mission-essential assets. In this role, you will ensure the total accuracy of Logistics Product Data (LPD) from initial planning through long-term sustainment, providing the vital foundation upon which the readiness and operational availability of advanced systems are built. As a dedicated data professional and project logistician for multiple fast-paced teams, you will oversee the cataloging process and meticulously review data integrity to ensure every piece of equipment is tracked, every technical manual is accounted for, and all systems remain fully supportable for years to come. Your expertise in building a flawless data picture is essential to guaranteeing long-term mission success and system reliability.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive familiarity with ILS-S and a robust background in logistics, equipment management, or the Technical Order Management Agent (TOMA) function, supported by direct experience serving as a project-level logistician for technical initiatives. They must demonstrate a proven history of managing and validating Logistics Product Data (LPD) and a comprehensive understanding of the federal cataloging process, including practical expertise in reviewing complex data submissions for precision. This background should showcase a mastery of equipment tracking and the ability to interpret critical technical documentation-such as technical orders, engineering drawings, and support plans-to ensure enduring mission sustainment and operational readiness. Additionally, the candidate will exhibit measurable skill in identifying and resolving data discrepancies across diverse information systems while operating independently to successfully manage competing deadlines across multiple high-priority projects.

4. Ability to plan, organize, analyze problems, translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, evaluate options, conduct research, summarize results, make appropriate recommendations, and manage critical aspects of service contract requirements as related to the assigned functional area and meet deadlines.

- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.
- Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
- Incumbent may be required to report to work during base exercises, contingencies, or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
- This position is designated a NON-CRITICAL APDP position.
- Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
- Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually, thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
- Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 20 days per year.
- Incentive is not authorized.
