Summary

This position is located in the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, an AFRC Facility in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavarian Alps, Germany.

This position is responsible for supervising various cooking tasks in any of the resort's F&B outlets.

Duties require continuous standing and walking, with frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and bending. The position regularly involves lifting or moving objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally over 40 pounds with assistance.

Duties

Assists Executive Chef in day-to-day planning and management of all phases of food preparation in the hotel/resort environment, where formal dining and catering are a regular and substantial basis of the total food operation. Incumbent performs administrative duties related to the position.

Creates special menus and supervises the preparation of meals which involve complex or new cooking methods.

Assists in developing operating budget, identifying labor, equipment and supply cost elements.

Supervises, directs subordinates and participates in all phases of food preparation.

Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j, to include Tier 1 investigation.
  • The ability to obtain (within first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency is required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME.
Must have at least 3 years of working experience in a combination of managing food and beverage service operations and food preparation. A bachelor's degree in food service or hotel/restaurant management is desirable, but not required and can be substituted for the 3 years of required experience.

Transportation to and from Germany is provided in accordance with the terms of the Joint Travel Regulation and the executed transportation agreement.
