Duties
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Serve as the Family Readiness Program Manager within Marine and Family Programs, Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) with staff cognizance over Family Readiness functions, including: Marine Corps Family Team Building (MCFTB) - Readiness and Deployment Support Training; Family Readiness Program Training; Lifestyle Insights, Networking, Knowledge, and Skills, (L.I.N.K.S.) training; LifeSkills training and education; Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation (CREDO); Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP); Navy Family Readiness Coordinator (NFRC), Personal Financial Management Program (PFMP), Information Referral and Relocation (IRR), and Cultural Adaptation. Oversee administration, management, coordination, development, and execution of all Family Readiness services. Reports to the Personal and Professional Development (P&PD) Director or designated representative. Follow the guidance from the chain of command when communicating with the installation leadership.
Oversee all Family Readiness Programs, including but not limited to MCFTB, NFRC, PFMP, IRR and Cultural Adaptation. Serve as primary point of contact and advisor to higher-level management on the operation, evaluation and improvement of functional effectiveness, productivity and efficiency of Family Readiness activities. Organize work, set priorities and determine resource requirements. Serve as the Responsible Officer (RO) for Family Readiness assets. Serve as the Approving Official (AO) or Alternate Approving Official (AAO) and is responsible for all purchasing requirements for Family Readiness Program.
Serve as the liaison between commanders, Deployment and Unit Readiness Coordinators (DRC and URC) and other Marine and Family Programs / MCCS divisions for all Family Readiness functions to ensure training provided are in compliance with the Unit, Personal and Family Readiness Program (UPFRP), MCFTB, and Marine and Family Programs policy. Ensures compliance with the Volunteer Management Program policy if the Installation Volunteer Coordinator falls under MCFTB/Family Readiness.
Serve as the Installation Commander's coordinator of overall family readiness support activities, monitor deployment cycles and possible military contingency plans, and coordinate training to support deployment preparations. Work in conjunction with DRCs and URCs to mitigate challenges and issues with Marines and families in a proactive manner.
Serve as the subject matter expert in all aspects related to training under the Family Readiness portfolio of training and educational opportunities. Conduct quality assurance checks on all trainers and advisors to ensure trainers/advisors are effective, professional, and meet the established Marine Corps standards of training. May coordinate and/or conduct training within Personal and Professional Development portfolio, including MCFTB, NFRC, PFMP, and IRR etc. and submit monthly data to headquarters.

Minimum Qualifications: BACHELOR'S DEGREE from an accredited college or university in a related field appropriate to the work of position AND three years of experience in the occupation, or a related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skills equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.
The following is required:
- Professional knowledge to evaluate military life conditions impacting personal and family readiness of Marines and their families and support systems existing in public and private sectors.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (oral and written).
- Knowledge of military structure and protocol; executive management and leadership skills at a level to effectively plan, coordinate and direct MCFTB services and operations; a thorough knowledge of business practices, economic principles and ability to analyze trends and make improvements; knowledge of military life, family dynamics, separation, effects of deployments, and ability to assess needs, measure effectiveness and make improvements; skills to deal effectively with social, family and individual problem situations; ability to deal effectively with superiors, subordinates, vendors, and the public.
- Must be able to give briefs in various settings to senior leadership and a variety of audiences. Skill to supervise employees in the accomplishment of work.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (Tier 1) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under the age of 18.
