Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-09) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of accounting principles, policies, procedures, regulations, and precedents. In-depth understanding of the objectives, guidelines, and regulatory framework governing accounting operations within a functional area. Proven ability to interpret and apply authoritative guidance to ensure compliance with Treasury, OMB, and agency-specific financial management regulations. 2.) Extensive knowledge of accounting systems, internal controls, and financial reporting processes as well as related administrative and financial management systems. Demonstrated experience in evaluating accounting operations for accuracy, effectiveness, and compliance, and in recommending or implementing improvements to enhance financial integrity and efficiency. 3.) Expert skill in identifying, analyzing, and resolving a wide range of complex accounting issues, including reconciliation of abnormal balances, identification of systemic errors, development and implementation of corrective actions, and coordination across program and financial management offices. 4.) A high level of analytical reasoning ability is required, with strong skill in applying this analysis to accounting-related challenges. This includes conceptualizing complex accounting problems and developing effective, compliant, and sustainable solutions.
