FOR GS 08 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
(GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Responding to emergency incidents and directing fire suppression, rescue operations, and emergency medical resource (EMS) in immediate mitigation actions. 2) Leading/managing personnel in the delivery of basic life support and/or advanced life support including supervision of ground ambulance transportation service;3) Demonstrated history of leading and working as member of a team to accomplish mission objectives; 4) Demonstrated history of sound tactical decision making and good judgment; 6) Demonstrated history of effective, professional, and outgoing customer service and interaction with the command, the general public and stakeholders; 7) Demonstrated experience delivering accurate, effective, and professional oral and written communications, particularly documentation of internal written communications, briefs, procedures, explanatory papers, correspondence, and fire/EMS reports. FOR GS 07 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level
(GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying active and potential fire hazards and providing structural firefighting IAW the Job Performance Requirements of the current edition of NFPA 1001; 2) Employing hazard and risk assessment techniques to complete incident analysis and effectively mitigate hazardous materials emergencies at the Operations level; 3) Providing emergency medical care at the BLS level to the full range of medical and trauma patients including managing respiratory and cardiac emergencies to include performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), bag-valve-mask resuscitation, and automatic external defibrillation (AED); 4) Performing driver/operator level maintenance and inspections and operating a variety of complex firefighting equipment including pumpers and/or aerial vehicles; and 5) Completing a variety of record keeping tasks using paper and computer based systems including patient care reports, equipment testing and maintenance records, NFIRS reports, vehicle and equipment inspection forms, pre-fire plans, etc. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position
