For GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performs pre-fire planning by physically going through structures to become familiar with the layout, fire hazards, and location of fixed fire protection systems. 2) Suppresses fires primarily using heavy-duty vehicles with water/foam delivery systems; 3)Assists in reducing and/or eliminating potential fire hazards to protect persons, property, or the environment following Navy established procedures and protocols 4) Performs emergency protocols and procedures by providing basic life support (BLS) established by the system medical director; 5) Provides tactical or strategic level guidance for response personnel at hazardous materials incidents; NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION.
**This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications for the GS-7: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator ARFF, HAZMAT Technician, and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NR-EMT). These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or Pro Board to meet the requirement. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible. Driver Operator Aerial must be obtained within 12 months of effective date of appointment.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department/brigade; 2) Performing rescue operations; 3) Detecting, reducing, or eliminating potential fire hazards; 4) Controlling hazardous materials incidents; and 5) Performing basic and routine medical procedures.
