Summary

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Enlisted Club on Yokota AB, Japan.

This is Regular Full-Time position, 40 hours per week.

Duties

  • Collaborates with senior management to establish program goals, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Monitors program effectiveness and efficiency, adjusting as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Supervises assigned staff, including assigning and reviewing work, conducting performance evaluations, addressing performance issues, approving leave requests, and resolving employee concerns.
  • Communicates performance expectations, provides regular feedback, and coaches employees on strengths and weaknesses.
  • Fosters a positive work environment and effectively addresses employee suggestions, complaints, and grievances.
  • Manages resources, including equipment and supplies.
  • Operates a small coffee and snack bar, preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages (e.g., coffee, espresso, tea, smoothies) and pre-packaged food items.
  • Operates a cash register, handles transactions, and maintains accurate cash records.
  • Sets up and maintains the service area, ensuring cleanliness and adequate supplies.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, including equipment, floors, and surfaces.
  • Performs heavy cleaning tasks as needed (e.g., cleaning coffee machines, refrigerators, freezers).
  • Responsible for inventory management and re-ordering supplies.
  • Receives deliveries of food and supplies.
  • Manage trash removal and disposal.
  • Complies with Public Health instructions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of management principles and techniques, including delegation and staff supervision.
  • Proven experience in program management and food service operations.
  • Ability to follow instructions, operate basic equipment, and utilize cleaning tools.
  • Ability to perform multi-step tasks, prioritize work, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling and equipment cleaning procedures.
  • Proficiency in cash handling procedures and financial accountability.
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods, and frequently stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Tier 1 background check.
  • Willingness to adhere to uniform requirements.
  • Must be able to work a non-traditional schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
