Summary

You will serve as the Deputy Future Operations Officer within the Future Operations Division (G-35), Operations Directorate (G-3), U.S. Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREUR/AF), located at Panzer Kaserne, Boblingen, Germany (part of U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart).

Duties

  • You will serve as the principal conduit between the service, joint, and multinational allies and partners for the coordination, planning, and force deployment and redeployment of designated theater-based operations.
  • You will provide managerial, administrative and operational functions for the Future Operations Division.
  • You will lead the leads the division in the absence of the Future Operations Officer.
  • You will manage financial resource processes within the division and identify capabilities required to support the priorities and objectives of EUCOM, AFRICOM, the Marine Corps, and MARFOREUR/AF.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Planning and executing Department of Defense operations or exercises, to include familiarity with the Joint Exercise Life Cycle.
2) Analyzing problem sets, establishing organizational priorities, and setting decision-making criteria.
3) Managing a workforce by leading teams, establishing work plans, supervising performance, and improving organizational efficiency.
4) Facilitating Financial management, program budget administration, and fiscal oversight.
5) Managing administration, to include coordination across an organization, setting timelines, and allocating resources.
6) Developing and presenting clear, concise, and effective written products for higher-level leadership decisions and internal communications.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
