Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES (KSAs) for this position are as follows:

- Ability to use measuring tape, chalk and pins for marking garments to fit customer (reduce chest, lengthen or shorten pants and skirts, attach insignia, etc.) is required.
- Incumbent must sew by hand and have experience using various tailoring machines (industrial straight stitch, blind stitch, serger and merrow) to achieve required results as well as use electric irons and commercial steam presses.
- Incumbent may be required to lift items up to 10 pounds, stand and sit for prolonged periods of time, and continually use arms, hands, and fingers in pulling and positioning materials while sewing and using tools.
- Incumbent is required to maintain a satisfactory production level in keeping with the demands of deadlines.
- Incumbent must possess excellent communication skills to provide services to customers.
