Duties
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Plan, develop, and execute annual facility budget and preventative maintenance plans.
- Identify, justify, and submit Facility Maintenance Management System (FMMS) projects for approval
- Troubleshoot and resolve building operations issues
- Perform maintenance and repairs.
- Serve as COR for onsite projects.
Physical Demands: The incumbent conducts regular and recurring inspections of the facility which require a considerable amount of walking, stooping, bending, climbing, and at times, lifting to inspect installed equipment or equipment being installed during construction or renovation. During periods of emergency, the incumbent will be subjected to considerable stress and be required to initiate corrective actions and undertake a large workload in a short period of time.
Work Environment: Work is performed in an office, laboratories, mechanical system rooms, construction sites, and outdoor environments. Normal operations place the incumbent in contact with electrical systems, steam and hot water systems, and a wide variety of other mechanical equipment. Therefore, considerable care and safety precautions are required to minimize risks. The incumbent is expected to perform duties in a safe and orderly manner so as not to endanger self, fellow workers, or property with which entrusted. There is regular and recurring exposure to moderate discomforts and unpleasantness, including high levels of noise, high temperatures, and adverse weather conditions.
GS-11 Salary: $74,678 (step1) to $97,087 (step 10)
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the step 1 rate.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must have Specialized Experience, Education or a Combination of Specialized Experience and Education as follows:
- Specialized Experience Requirement: you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) and your resume must include hours per week worked. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience: repairing and performing preventative maintenance of commercial HVAC and fire suppression systems; troubleshooting and maintaining fish culture systems; and preparation of statements of work for building renovations and repairs and oversight of such projects. -OR-
- Education: Successful completion of at least 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or an LL.M directly related to the duties of the. (Degree must reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.). You must include transcripts. -OR-
- Combination of education and experience. To combine education and experience, first find the percentage of education completed that is leading to a doctoral degree. Then take the number of months of full-time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include hours per week and transcripts.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education

Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable.
