Summary



About the Position: Serves as Facility Services Assistant in the Maintenance Section of a major multipurpose hydroelectric power plant project that includes power generation, navigation locks, flood control, fish passage facilities, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features, and other appurtenant elements at several locations.

Duties

  • Troubleshoot system problems and issues, to include problems with access, printing, server connectivity, permissions, training, etc.
  • Resolve user errors and gathers information necessary to provide clear details of errors in the form of a Software Program Change Request (SPCR) to contractor for those issues requiring programming changes.
  • Serve as Project Advisor and Systems Administrator on the various functions and features of computer hardware/software, Facilities Equipment Maintenance System (FEM) system, and other related data maintenance matters.
  • Coordinate with budget personnel to ensure proper accounting and appropriate funds are available.
  • Maintain FEM/MAXIMO Signature Security (permissions) to include in-processing of new employees, assuring proper permissions, group settings, labor authorizations, etc.
  • Prepare or assist the supervisor with annual and periodic program reports, which may include major items of repair, problems occurring, and information affecting workload.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.


In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Performing equipment maintenance to keep machinery operational.; AND 2) Utilizing various software to manage data related to equipment and facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Specialized Experience GS-08: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing various hardware, software, and other systems to improve maintenance system operations; AND 2) Assuring proper preventive maintenance and repair services are accomplished effectively within units. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing preventative maintenance for complex machinery to meet operational needs; 2) Developing instructional materials to conduct training; and 3) Troubleshooting system operations to apply system analysis, administration, and/or network capabilities to facilitate resolutions of operating problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).
