Experience:

GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
- Communicating both orally and in writing, the policies, guidelines, and/or procedures for an organization's disaster, emergency, or loan-making program to a variety of stakeholders, such as high-level government officials, businesses, and individuals; AND
- Assessing a disaster, emergency, or loan-making organization/program to identify and utilize the appropriate mix of resources and skills required to accomplish the mission; AND
- Leading or overseeing teams or projects to achieve organizational goals; AND
- Preparing presentations, correspondence, reports and/or other documents utilizing mobile and desktop productivity applications such as web browsers, email, spreadsheets, and word processing

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
TIME-IN-GRADE: If you are a current career or career-conditional federal employee applying for promotion under Merit Promotion you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks in positions at the next level lower than the position being filled.
