You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Statement (HR/SME): One year of specialized experience which includes responding to fire and rescue incidents such as brush, forest and structural fires, hazardous material spills, releases and containment and decontamination work; providing basic life support treatment to patients within the pre-hospital environment performing patient assessments and examinations and providing prompt and efficient patient care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Selective Placement Factor: In addition to the specialized experience required to qualify for the GS-07 level you must also possess and maintain
ALL the following Department of Defense (or reciprocal equivalent) certifications:
Certified as a Virginia and/or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician.
Valid Driver Operator-Pumper certification.
