Knowledge of scientific, biological, and ecological theories, principles, methodologies, and practices sufficient to apply a wide range of techniques and procedures toward solving problems associated with fish and wildlife resources on private land.
Knowledge in administrative and staff level work to: (1) provide Advisory, review, and training services to others engaged in the planning and management of privately-owned fish and wildlife areas, and (2) develop Private Landowner Agreements that include estimates of personnel, equipment, materials, and schedules required for successful completion of conservation projects.
Knowledge to modify or adapt standard techniques, processes, and procedures and to assess, select, apply precedents, and devise strategies and plans to overcome significant resource problems related to species production, conservation, habitat restoration, construction, or program management and evaluation.
Skill in grant writing and administration, including the development of work plans and progress reports to insure continued availability of supplemental funds for restoration activities.
Skill in strategic communication including best practices for communicating with different value-orientations, using effective conservation messaging and various communication, including meet, converse, and work effectively with supervisors, private landowners, coworkers, other agency employees, representatives of nongovernment organizations, and the public.
