About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and attentive Food Service Attendant to join our team at the bustling Kilauea Military Camp dining facility. Your responsibility will include ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for our guests by serving food, setting up dining areas, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup and breakdown of cafeteria lines, dining room tables, and service stations.
• Replenish hot and cold food items as necessary.
• Serve food in correct portions and follow orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining areas and return dishes and leftovers to the kitchen.
• Brew coffee and prepare fresh salads and sandwiches using prepared ingredients.
• Operate and clean kitchen equipment including worktables, sinks, and refrigerators.

Requirements

• Able to understand and follow simple instructions.
• Use hand tools for cleaning and operate simple machines.
• Able to lift and move items up to 40 pounds.
• Must complete a minimum of 4 hours of food sanitation and safety training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Stand and walk continuously with the physical ability to stoop, reach, and bend.
• Experience in maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, and service.
• Report any hazards or malfunctioning equipment immediately.
• Work may require standing on ladders and exposure to extreme temperatures.

Benefits

• Overtime pay for hours exceeding 8 per day or 40 per week.
• Sunday premium pay for working Sunday shifts.
• Night shift differential pay between 1500-0800 as applicable.
