Duties

  • Leads the work of approximately 6 Food Service Workers in the preparation of fast food for fast food service to include mobile units. Checks work in progress. Ensures that safety, security, and good housekeeping rules are followed.
  • Works with other members of the shift, setting the pace, demonstrating proper work methods, conducting on-the-job training, and communicating work assignments to the workers being lead.
  • Prepares a limited variety of fast-food items such as hamburgers, hot dogs, fish and chicken sandwiches, French fries, etc. Prepares/slices lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and other vegetables for sandwiches and salads.
  • Assures that tables/work surfaces are promptly cleared and cleaned. Cleans other work areas to include walls, floors, equipment, and storage area. Accepts food orders from patrons and serves alcoholic beverages (10%).
  • Serves as cashier in the pro-shop and the snack bar, receiving payment by cash or charge. Completes cash report at the end of assigned shift. Prepares DARs and other required reports as required.
  • Orders fast food items, condiments, linens, and other necessary supplies.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
  • Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities
  • Light to heavy physical effort is required. Frequently lifts and moves objects weighing up to 45 pounds, occasionally lifting and carrying up to 45 pounds.
  • Work schedule for this position is an irregular schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
Experience or training that indicates sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position consistent with acceptable practices of the trade.

1. Ability to work without more than normal supervision.
2. Ability to lead other employees.
3. Work practices (keeping things neat, clean, and in order).
4. Technical practices (basic food preparation and handling techniques).
5. Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
6. Knowledge of materials and basic sanitation principles.
7. Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.

FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
