Duties

  • Performs a variety of routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area; sets up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, condiments, and cold menu items such as salads, desserts, bread, and cold beverages.
  • Prepares food by sorting, washing, peeling, and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • Operates, break downs, and cleans all equipment assigned to the area for food preparation.
  • Separates food waste and trash from dishes and loads and operates dishwasher.
  • Vacuums and shampoos carpets; sweeps and mops kitchen floors, cleans windows, walls, trash cans and disposes of trash.

  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • Incumbent must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Must be available nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must have knowledge of basic food handling techniques, personal hygiene standards and safe work procedures.

Qualifications

Ability to understand and follow oral instructions and do simple tasks that are easy to learn.
