Summary

This position is located at Seward Military Resort.

Approximate dates of employment are 15 May - 15 September 2024.

Duties

  • Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary.
  • Maintains related cash records.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
  • Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat.
  • Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
  • Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment.
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Able to work alone.
  • Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Know simple food handling techniques.
  • Able to work safely.
  • Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time.
  • Able to use simple arithmetic.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives may be paid.
  • Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
