Summary
As Front Office Assistant Manager, oversees operations to ensure customer satisfaction and cost-effectiveness. Supervises front office areas, reviews guest feedback, monitors expenses, and ensures policy compliance. Develops procedures, resolves complaints, manages staffing, performance, training, and discipline. Maintains high productivity, professional standards, and efficient departmental operations, including night audit functions.
Duties
MAJOR DUTIES:
As the Front Office Assistant Manager, oversees work in progress for conformity with instructions, directives, and meeting customer demand. Assist the manager in formulating instructions and directives necessary to conduct service-oriented and cost-effective operations. Conducts reviews of guest comments, surveys, and operations to identify problems and initiates appropriate corrective action. Evaluates the success of programs based on customer satisfaction. Monitors labor and other expenses, presents analysis to the Front Office Manager. Supervises and assists in all front office areas to include front office, PBX, Reservations, and Bell Desk in all of their activities to include reservation bookings, customer service, computerized property management systems, and its related controls, records, reporting, accounting, and personnel functions to achieve maximum room occupancies, revenue and optimum customer satisfaction. Is responsible for the efficient operation of the department, including night audit functions, by ensuring all policies, internal controls, and procedures are understood and adhered to by the personnel. Develops operating policies, programs, and procedures for the department and submits them to the Manager for approval. Monitor and evaluate guest satisfaction to ensure that the hotel meets its high standards. Participates in regular departmental inspections and reviews and resolves guest complaints. Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, providing adequate internal controls, effective inventory management, and fiduciary responsibilities, as well as accountability for property and funds. Maintains a high quality and quantity of work output by setting the initiative for cost-effective and timely productivity. Maintains a professional work environment with other hotel departments.
Performs a complete range of supervisor duties, including developing, evaluating, and obtaining approval for staffing levels. Recommends recruitment or reassignment actions; recommends selections. Conducts performance appraisals and submits them for approval by the Manager and Director. Initiates or recommends disciplinary actions; initiates recommendations for awards and pay adjustments. Ensures skill level training is developed, conducted, and evaluated on an ongoing basis. Recommends employee development and training programs, work schedules, etc.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Progressively responsible experience that indicates the ability to satisfactorily perform the above, including 1 year of equivalent experience to at least the next lower grade level. Include supervision of staff at a resort lodging facility. Must be proficient in Word and Excel and be able to operate software programs such as Opera or ticketing management. Preferred are candidates who have also supervised staff at a resort and lodging facility. A degree in hospitality management and or possess a current CHS certification (Certified Hospitality Supervision).
Education
