To be eligible for consideration, you must first meet the Basic Education Requirement for this position, having a bachelor's degree or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your college transcripts.

Have a combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education related to the position. NOTE: Your resume must indicate how you meet this requirement, and you must submit copies of your college transcripts, otherwise you may be found ineligible for this position.
In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the education and specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
In addition to the Basic Qualifications, as listed in the question above, you must also meet the specialized experience, as related to the qualification requirements for this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level In Federal service, that includes experience in at least
three (3) of the following six (6) areas:
- Applying biological principles to evaluate biological impacts from water or associated land projects (particularly for fish, birds, plants, or wetlands).
- Developing mitigation and monitoring requirements for water or associated land projects (particularly for fish, birds, plants, or wetlands).
- Establishing collaborative working relationships internally or externally.
- Providing leadership within a team(s).
- Conducting environmental compliance and ensuring consistency with regulatory requirements under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) or the Clean Water Act (CWA).
- Experience with principles of project management including, project scoping or budgeting, contract or grant management, or proposal development.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
