You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a General Maintenance Supervisor without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common tasks such as installation, maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy industrial and auxiliary machinery and equipment. Ability to perform maintenance of all permanent operating equipment. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Physical Effort:
Work requires moderately arduous physical effort, including climbing onto and off of heavy equipment and lifting and carrying attachments, parts and supplies up to 50 lbs routinely and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Work requires considerable walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, climbing, working on ladders or platforms, and traversing rough terrain. Many activities can cause exertion of the lower back; good lower back physical condition must be maintained. Work requires visual acuity, color and depth perception. Must have good hand-foot-eye coordination.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed inside and outside, with exposure to bad weather and the usual climate extremes. There are the common dangers inherent to power tool operations such as: cuts and bruises, electrical shock and burns, and the danger of working around mobile equipment. There is danger of injury or death from operating equipment on steep slopes if vehicle overturns, or slipping on wet surfaces or falling into swift water. Subject to noise, dust, dirt, paint fumes, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, raw sewage and obnoxious smells, insect bites and bee stings, etc. Must wear appropriate safety and protective gear such as hard hat, safety goggles, earplugs, life jacket, respirator etc. as required.
