Duties

  • Manages, plans, and directs the daily operations of a golf course facility to include golf course maintenance. Represents the activity at conferences, to special interest groups and other agencies.
  • As a second level supervisor reviews the actions of subordinate supervisors including other PGA Professionals.
  • Reviews financial reports, estimates projected costs, and develops activity financial plan and operating budgets to include Capital Purchase and Minor Construction. Prepares financial and operational briefings as required.
  • Responsible for all food and beverage operations within the facility.
  • Provides and maintains teaching program for patronage at the individual and group levels, to include personal lesson participation.

  • Must be a PGA member class “A” in good standing within 2 years of employment.
  • This position is dual compensation exempt; All GS and NAF employees holding FLEX positions are eligible to apply for this position.
  • Must be available to work varying and/or rotating shifts to include nights, weekends holidays and early mornings (reporting as early as 4:00AM).

Qualifications

  1. A minimum of 2 years of experience managing or directing the activities of a golf course.
    • A 4-year college degree in a business-related field may be substituted for 1 year of experience.

In accordance with IMCOM Regulation 215-1, Chapter 4-3u., each Golf Manager must be a Professional Golfers Association Class "A" Certified Member in good status. Those Non-PGA Member golf managers that have successfully completed Level II PGA training & I and Superintendents Courses meet this requirement.

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a pay-banded position.
  • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
  • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives may be paid.
    • May be eligible for a Manager Incentive Program (MIP).
    • Incumbent may be eligible for a financial Manager Incentive Program (MIP) on top of salary offered.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
