This is a GG-14 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-14 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Senior" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-14 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,
Professional and Scientific Positions.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION: Degree: History; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history.
OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
OR
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience includes: comprehensive level of knowledge of established methods and techniques of historical research in the collection, evaluation, analysis, or presentation of historical facts.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery knowledge of established methods and techniques of historical research in the collection, evaluation, analysis, or presentation of historical facts.
2. Mastery knowledge of the location and arrangement of source materials in various archives or other depositories.
3. Extensive knowledge and ability to employ substantial breadth and depth of knowledge of the specialized subject areas involved, in evolving and testing hypotheses to clarify complex and often obscure casual relationships. Must have a clear knowledge of the Air Force cryptologic, cyber, and information warfare missions. The continuous implementation of technological advancement in the national cryptologic, cyber, and Air Force programs in the form of new electronic and communications equipment and systems, causes frequent fluctuations in the operation and staffing of both mission and support activities.
4.Knowledge of advanced management and organizational principles and practices to develop and implement integrated approaches and solutions to mission support problems, policies, and procedures and knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information.
5. Knowledge of HQ-level organizational goals and objectives, other organizations, programs, missions, and functions to perform comprehensive analysis and studies on cryptologic, cyber, information warfare areas, and other historical topics.
6. Ability to write efficiently. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing; to express the organization's history position to a variety of audiences, and to interpret and explain policies and guidance for operation of the history program, laws, regulations and procedures. Ability to plan, organize and direct the functions and mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of an organization; ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations to meet program requirements and objectives with available resources.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
3. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
