Summary

You will serve as a HOUSING MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT in the Facilities Department ofMARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI .

Duties

  • You will serve as the initial point of contact for newly arriving U.S. government personnel seeking government housing.
  • You will monitor the assignment of tenants to available quarters and schedules pre-occupancy, pretermination, and termination inspections
  • You will maintain eligibility lists and assigns quarters in accordance with established procedures or instructions.
  • You will coordinate the storage, handling, inventory, and movement of furniture, furnishings, or equipment between warehouse and tenant quarters; obtains custody receipts; and maintains records concerning inventory, placement, and condition.
  • You will receive and processes routine tenant complaints, requests for repair or maintenance of inoperative, damaged, or broken fixtures, furnishings, equipment, or structures

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least three years of general experience that includes one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing customer service and practices related to daily business operations; performing standard housing functions such as receiving and processing complaints from residents and demonstrating knowledge of acceptable work associated with repairs, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Priority consideration will be given to military spouse preference and family member preference eligible residing in the commute area of the duty location for this position. Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
