Duties
The Clinical Integration Coordinator is a Senior Health Systems Specialist and member of a team of planners, analysts and healthcare executives responsible for areas including: development of the joint venture strategic alliance between the principal facilities, planning and oversight of new and existing VA/DoD joint initiatives, oversight of the Master Sharing Agreement, development and maintenance of a joint strategic plan, analysis of demography and epidemiology of the respective market areas, facility planning and space optimization, liaison with leadership of all organizations with respect to planning activities, and facilitation of joint executive planning activities between FVACHCS and DoD partners.
Program Oversight: Contributes to the establishment of policy and programs for the entire joint venture health care delivery system by providing information and recommendations as requested by senior leadership. Develops and writes guidance on techniques for management and methods improvements for resource sharing. Independently performs in-depth analyses of current and projected health care needs, demographic trends in medical care, and innovations regarding new healthcare concepts. Assesses the ability of the respective organizations to meet those needs in a cost-efficient manner, and whether or not the provision of care Is permissible under statutes, regulations, and external agency requirements of both the VA and DoD. Provides direction, coordination, advice, and assistance to clinical and administrative staff to achieve an integrated program.
Audits, Inspections and Management Controls: Interprets clinical and administrative data and data formats to develop data management procedures which facilitate decision making for all Joint Ventures. Designs and reviews the data and information filters to pinpoint, relevant Information. Compares medical center data with current local non-VA care data and national data that describe available health services and specialized treatment settings to identify or develop novel financial strategies and to make recommendations for changes to current programs to accommodate joint venture needs. Completes a formal and comprehensive cost analysis for proposed services to support the decision-making process.
Partnership Agreement Policy Development: Authorized to negotiate and pursue agreements that have legal implications and requirements under the Joint Venture program. The incumbent has primary oversight of the FVACHCS/WAMC Master Sharing Agreement. As such, has principal responsibility for directing and managing a system for developing, maintaining and refining formal agreements between WAMC, VA and external entities as well as with any other DoD partners in the future.

Quality Improvement Programs: Based on analysis of programs and review of strategic short and long term goals, works with subject matter experts to identify improvements to existing program delivery and oversee implementation of improvement processes. Chairs the VA/DoD Joint Venture Oversight Committee functioning under the auspices of the respective partners executive boards/councils. The Oversight Committee is charged with addressing and resolving all clinical and administrative operational problems as they arise. Serves as the principal staff for implementing actions of the committee, including interface planning, investigation, and evaluation.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday
Telework: This position may be authorized for Ad hoc telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
