Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing electronic healthcare systems; 2) evaluating or analyzing healthcare processes and recommending solutions; 3) providing supervision and or direction to employees and their work; 4) providing oversight of all aspects of the Quality Management Program; and 5) developing and coordinating short, mid, and long-range plans and programs.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12.
Candidate preferred:
1)Position requires the skill and experience of a knowledgeable health care professional with experience in health care quality management, utilization management, performance improvement or risk management.
2) Expert knowledge of and experience in healthcare operations, use of quality improvement and assessment methods to assess organizational performance, and current research and trends relative to health care practices.
3) This position requires knowledge and understanding of clinical practices, procedures, and standards as well as general knowledge in the credentialing and privileging process.
4) Working knowledge of process improvement tools / techniques and statistical process control techniques and application. Working knowledge of medical terminology and procedures sufficient to interpret and identify medical/dental/clinical discrepancies and interact with medical professionals at all levels of these programs within the organization and DON/DoD.
