WHO CAN APPLY:
GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Member (E4/SrA - E8/SMSgt) currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Air National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Air National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Member (E4/SrA - E8/SMSgt) regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). To be considered as a Group II applicant, proof of appointment/enlistment in the Virginia Air National Guard must be attached if the appointment/enlistment occurred within 60 days prior to, or during, the advertisement period.
Group III - Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Air National Guard.
Military Grades: Enlisted Member (E4/SrA - E8/SMSgt)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have experience or training serving as the full-time Health Systems Specialist for the installation, geographically separated units (GSUs), and tenant units, with responsibility for managing all medical administrative functions including medical support, medical operations, force health management and related medical applications.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 12 months of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-08 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government? This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
- Managing Health Services activities, including plans and operations, human resource management, and medical staffing.
- Providing medical management and advisory services that contribute substantially to the plans, policies, decisions, and objectives of senior management.
- Developing plans, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for the overall operation of the Medical Staff.
- Ensuring that plans and schedules are prepared for Medical Staff members and support personnel to attain combat ready proficiency.
