SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service. This experience must have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position Specialized experience includes: being responsible for day-to-day scheduling of work, all hazardous/regulated medical waste disposal and recycling activities; overseeing the contract pest control program; conducting comprehensive quality control inspections; is responsible for the cleaning of all patient area and corridor spaces; conducting performance appraisals; training staff; and controlling the use of supplies and equipment.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED) - Applicants must possess a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Physical Requirements: The position requirements include but are not limited to the following: constant walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting and working in awkward positions. Climbing of ladders and stairs and use of arms and legs for high cleaning. Heavy lifting as much as 50 pounds and must be able to lift large laundry bags of 40 pounds (dry weight) or more at least five feet to load laundry carts. Moving of large laundry carts, linen and trash carts, and heavy recycle bins. Pushing of recycle tubs, cleaning carts and heavy trash bins. Ability to control very heavy, self-propelled equipment weighing over 1,600 pounds.
