Summary

This is a limited tenure position not to exceed 15 months. It is an unaccompanied program because we cannot provide logistical support to family members. Dorm-style housing is provided in lieu of a living quarters allowance. Transportation to and from Germany is provided following the terms of the executed transportation agreement. Military spouses and family members residing within the Garmisch Military Community who apply under this announcement will be considered for a regular appointment.

Duties

Works under the general supervision and guidance of the Food & Beverage Manager. A full-service restaurant manages the daily operations of the dining room. Ensures adequate stock levels are maintained, correct receipt, pricing procedures are adhered to, and requisitions merchandise as required. Controls inventories, cash, equipment, and supplies. Maintains required outlet statistics, reports, and identifying labor requirements. Confirms the food sanitation and the food handling requirements. Assist in preparing correspondence, including responses to comment cards, inquiries, audits, and inspections. Supervises assigned staff, conducts on-the-job training, evaluates employees' work performance, investigates grievances and complaints, resolves them informally, and notifies supervisors of those of a serious nature. Performs other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15j, to include Tier 1 investigation.

The ability to obtain (within the first six months of employment) and maintain a Food Protection Manager Certification acquired through an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited agency (e.g., the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Program) is required.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE CLEARLY VERIFIABLE IN YOUR RESUME:

Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties to be performed. Work experience must be equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower grade level.

Preferred are those candidates who possess work experience or education directly related to hotel management operations.

Education

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have a valid U.S. passport, and be 18 years or older to be considered for positions. Applicants must also have one year of post-high school experience in the service industry or one year of post-high school education.
