To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to the above qualifications will also be determined by comparing your application to the responses on the Assessment Questionnaire against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WS-3566 Series. The questionnaire will assess how your knowledge, skills, and abilities match the work of the position. The elements are as follow:
- Ability to Lead or Supervise
- Dexterity and Safety
- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (other than blueprints)
- Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order)
SUPERVISORY OR MANAGERIAL COMPETENCIES: Candidates should posses proficiency or the potential to develop proficiency in these competencies prior to entry into a supervisory position.
- Ability to provide verbal or written reports on work progress.
- Ability to operate personal protective equipment, familiar with Safety Data Sheet and follows polices and procedures on Safety and Infection Control Standards when cleaning up infections spills.
- Ability to follow proper guideline in the use of hospital grade cleaning chemical and cleaning techniques related to a health care environment.
- Ability to conduct periodic inventories to ensure sufficient quantities of custodial cleaning supplies are maintained.
Physical Effort: Moderately physical effort is required to continuously perform manual cleaning tasks. Position requires walking, standing for long periods, bending, pulling, pushing, lifting, reaching, and climbing. There are occasional short periods of more physical effort when moving furniture, cabinets, and lifting items over 50 pounds.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
