To qualify at the GS-5 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-4 level in federal service having demonstrated experience answering routine human resources related inquiries and utilizing office automated systems to enter, retrieve and manage data; experience tracking, coordinating, updating, and maintaining files and records. These examples are not all inclusive. You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having completed 4-years above high school. You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.
To qualify at the GS-6 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-5 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in providing assistance and responding to technical questions regarding human resources related topics, answering basic customer inquiries, and creating and maintaining electronic folders using an automated onboarding system. These examples are not all inclusive.
To qualify at the GS-7 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-6 level in federal service having demonstrated experience in responding to technical questions regarding human resources related topics, answering customer inquiries, and creating and maintaining electronic folders using an automated onboarding system; experience performing technical human resources work to include assisting applicants with troubleshooting technical issues within the online application system; experience utilizing other pre-employment and post-employment human resources systems in order to track actions and make appointments. These examples are not all inclusive.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
