In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have progressively responsible experience in Human Resources Management. Experience which provided knowledge of a range of HR case law, principles, policies, practices, and regulations sufficient to perform analysis of situations. Experience with union contracts and advising management on the proper administration, writing and/or advising on disciplinary actions, and collecting data to make sound decisions is needed. Prior experience in NAF HR, Employee Relations, and Labor Relations is preferred. Must be familiar with personal computer applications such as Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a full range of HR case law, principles, policies, practices and regulations.
2. Ability to communicate with others effectively, both orally and in writing.
3. Skilled in dealing with customers and the public.
4. Knowledge and skills with personal computer applications such as Windows, MS Word, Excel, Access, and the Internet.
5. Knowledge of CBA/Contract administration.
6. Knowledge of Labor Relations, including required notifications and grievance procedures.
7. Skill in writing legally sufficient disciplinary memorandums.
8. Ability to provide meaningful, well-researched advice to management.
