Qualifications
General Experience: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; Ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels.
INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-12: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. Specialized experience may have been demonstrated by performing duties such as: Experienced as serving as the Wing Information Protection Program Manager executing/enforcing all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of the program; Experience formulating wing program goals, plans, policy implementation guidelines, procedures, and work plans dealing with the development and operation of wing-wide information security programs and activities; Experience providing technical and administrative direction to subordinate wing information security personnel; Experience interpreting federal regulations for information security processes as they apply and are implemented within the Wing; Experience overseeing, directing, monitoring, and conducting regulatory and non-regulatory security surveys and Information Security Program Reviews (ISPRs) to monitor and enforce implementation and oversight of DoD Information, Personnel, and Industrial Security Programs.
