AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
Military Grades: E1-O6
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; ability to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material; ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats; ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures; ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels; the education and validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level MUST possess at least 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level of GS-11 Level; experience formulating program goals, plans, policy implementation guidelines, procedures, and work plans dealing with the development and operation of information security programs and activities; making information protection risk assessments and risk management/mitigation strategies/recommendations based on intelligence-derived threat issues; collect, assemble, analyze, and assess background, data and other intelligence information.
SPECIALIZED SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE: MUST possess specialized supervisory experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
