Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:
1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Reviewing work methods and procedures to improve efficiency.
2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring that applicable statutes, policies, standards and regulations are part of the timely and cost-effective approaches to meeting organizational needs.
3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Prepare and present applicable reports and briefs in support of decision-making efforts.
4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Provide technical guidance and oversight to a team in identifying Information Technology issues and devising courses of action to resolve those issues. Evaluate those courses of action and either take action or provide recommendation to leadership on most effective course of action.
In addition to the four competencies above, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing information management concepts to help identify the need to upgrade or enhance system capabilities; 2) Evaluating the effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of operating systems, network systems, communications, software, hardware or equipment to meet the needs of the organization; 3) Assisting with the planning and implementation of new/improved information systems to support organizational objectives; and 4) Drafting Information Technology policies and plans to assist with the oversight of Information Systems Management programs and projects.
