Duties
As a INSIDER THREAT INVESTIGATIONS ANALYST you will be responsible for the following duties:
The incumbent will serve as an action officer supporting the requirements of the DoD Insider Threat Management and Analysis Center (DITMAC) acting as an Insider Threat Analyst in support of the Department's counter-insider threat mission and the DCSA's Adjudication and Vetting Services (AVS) mission. The selectee will be required to review reports meeting insider threat behavioral thresholds or anomalous behavior indicative of potential insider risk, access additional databases and resources, including coordination with component insider threat hubs, to help contextualize behavior, and complete analytic documents to support the DoD enterprise in mitigating risk and supporting rehabilitation of employees. This will be done in coordination with a wide range of subject matter experts available to support the analyst. The incumbent will work across divisions of the DITMAC and DCSA, coordinating with AVS to facilitate response and reporting of derogatory information, the Unauthorized Disclosure Program Management Office on coordination of the loss of classified and controlled unclassified information, the Performance, Requirements, Information, Standards, and Metrics division to ensure appropriate capture of data and statistics, the Behavioral Threat Analysis Capability division to deliver subject matter expertise to contextualize risk-based behaviors, and the User Activity Monitoring and Publicly Available Electronic Information division to help the governance and integration of those into the analytical process. This promotes the "one DITMAC" effort and supports the broader counter-insider threat enterprise and DCSA's
The selectee will work directly with DCSA AVS and must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to receive, process, and synthesize disparate data sets into a comprehensive, succinct, and quality written product is essential. A strong working knowledge of the MS Suite of tools, as well as the capability to adapt to a wide range of changing technology and tools, is necessary to complete the mission.
In serving in the insider threat enterprise, the selectee's integrity must be beyond reproach. As the counter-insider threat mission set is evolving, flexibility and adaptability are critical assets of any applicant. It is recommended the selectee receive conferral for the Certified Counter-Insider Threat Professional - Fundamentals within one year, and the Certified Counter-Insider Threat Professional - Analysis within two years.

2. Veteran's Documents
- If applying for Veteran's preference, please provide a copy of your DD214 showing character of service, SF-15 Form and VA letter showing final percentage, or certification of expected discharge or release from active duty.

The Member 1 copy will not be accepted), OR if your DD214 has yet to be approved, a Retirement Letter will be accepted up to 120 days prior to retirement signed by, or by direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters which must include your rank, dates of active duty service, the Type of Discharge, Character of Service (i.e. honorable).
- IF, you are taking leave prior to your retirement date, you must provide a copy of your "approved" terminal leave request form (must show "Terminal" or "Other- Transition") or the Approved Terminal/Other-Transition Leave Start Date must be indicated on your Retirement Letter. If you are not taking leave prior to your separation date you are not required to provide a terminal leave request form or indicate a Leave Start Date on your Statement of Service.
- Future Military Separatees (Not Retiring): You are required to submit a copy of your "official" DD214 (NOTE: Member 4 Copy is preferred, but we will accept copies that show character of service i.e. "honorable or general-under honorable conditions." The Member 1 copy will not be accepted), OR if your DD214 has yet to be approved, a copy of your most recent active duty orders for separation or a statement of service letter will be accepted up to 120 days prior to separation which must reflect the Type of Discharge, and Character of Service (i.e. honorable).
- IF, you are taking leave prior to your separation date, you must provide a copy of your "approved" terminal leave request form (must show "Terminal" or "Other-Transition") or the Approved Terminal/Other-Transition Leave Start Date must be indicated on your Statement of Service. If you are not taking leave prior to your separation date you are not required to provide a terminal leave request form or indicate a Leave Start Date on your Statement of Service.
- NOTE: Active duty military members are not eligible for appointment unless currently on terminal leave.
3. SF-50:
- If applicable, all current and former Federal employees must submit a copy of your latest SF50 (Notification of Personnel Action) showing your tenure, grade and step, and type of position occupied (i.e., Excepted or Competitive); or similar Notification of Personnel Action documentation, i.e., Transcript of Service, Form 1150, etc. Failure to provide latest SF50 will result in you being rated ineligible for this position.
