Duties
This position is located in the J2, Intelligence and security function of the Joint Forces Headquarters-State (JFHQ-ST). The primary purpose of the position is to perform specialized duties and to train assigned military unit members in the duties and functions associated with operational intelligence. Provides detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning and execution, training exercises, briefings and debriefings for the state Joint Senior staff, subordinate units and members. Serves as a subject matter expert for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and Geo-spatial Intelligence and Systems (GI&S) support. In addition, the incumbent performs complex intelligence analysis of economic, geographic, political, military topics and threats that could impact the JFHQ-ST mission success. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
Work involves the collection, analysis, development, protection and dissemination of intelligence information which directly or indirectly affects the national security.

- NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is a Title 32 Technician Vacancy that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the closing date of the job vacancy.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
Qualifications
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC):
Area of Consideration: This position is open to Areas 1 and 2 Only.
Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2)
Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard
Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard
GENERAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work requiring the ability to deal effectively with others, to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts. Experience preparing clear and concise written reports.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have at least 1 year of experience, education or training performing functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations. Experience reviewing and analyzing data including technical reports, surveys, and studies. Experience preparing and conducting training plans and programs, both formal and on-the-job.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
3. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience - Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualification and perform the duties of the position.

3 academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education, in a course of study that directly reflects the job-related KSAs/competencies necessary to satisfy the minimum qualifications and perform the duties of the position,
