Summary

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position.

This position is a Temporary GS-0132-11 INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1155000 and is part of the MO G2 Intelligence Directorate. This is a non-bargaining position.

Duties

  • Assists in assuring the Intelligence function maintains a capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.
  • Conducts coordination and liaison with counterparts and colleagues in other major command intelligence organizations.
  • Represents the organization at interagency conferences and meetings that deal with specialty functions and internal training requirements at the unit level.
  • Performs assigned operational intelligence collection, fusion and analysis.
  • Based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.
  • Briefs the findings and estimates of the special assignments to superiors, planners, and policy makers.
  • Provides detailed threat analysis for mission planning and execution and unit deployments.
  • Performs duties as a subject matter expert on order of battle and threat weapons systems.
  • Builds and maintains threat databases for future reference.
  • Creates and updates the classified and unclassified intelligence reference libraries.
  • Serves as the Geospatial (mapping) manager for the organization.
  • Performs duties as subject matter expert on various mapping software programs to include Arcview and Falconview and builds and maintains a map database and inventory.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of the security functions within the organization and oversees unit security inspections, security briefings and other security operations.
  • Directs or assists in the direction of antiterrorism/force protection planning and execution and provides antiterrorism and/or force protection (AT/FP) Level-One Training to subordinate units.
  • Ensures Force Protection intelligence is analyzed, briefed and debriefed in a manner that maximizes situational awareness of all force protection threats.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • The duties performed in a non-federal or active duty uniformed service position must directly relate to the position to which appointed and such qualifications are necessary to achieve an important agency mission or performance goal to be eligible.
  • Temporary appointments are subject to termination at any time.
  • This position can be filled up to four years as long as funds are available to support it.
  • In the event a permanent (Tenure 1 or 2) or indefinite (Tenure 3) employee is selected, and is willing to accept the temporary appointment, that employee will relinquish permanent or indefinite status.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard. Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

Maximum Military Grade - 2LT (O-1)

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess administrative, professional, investigative, or technical work which required the ability to deal effectively with others; to collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; and to prepare clear and concise written reports.

GS-11 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to provide detailed intelligence analysis for mission planning and execution, training exercises, briefings and debriefings; serve as a subject matter expert for intelligence systems, order of battle maintenance, mission planning, threat analysis, and Geo-spatial Intelligence and Systems (GI&S) support; perform complex intelligence analysis of economic, geographic, political, military topics and threats that could impact mission success; and possess comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices. The specialized experience must also indicate your ability to develop and recommend policy; organize and carry out specific programs; evaluate and recommend changes in methods of operation; perform functions involving various intelligence systems and organizations; collect, evaluate and organize pertinent facts; and prepare clear and concise written reports.
