Appointment Factor(s): This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible military assignment in the Texas Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform.
Areas of Consideration: Nationwide - Excepted. This includes:
- All currently employed full-time permanent, indefinite, and temporary personnel of the Texas National Guard.
- All current members of the Texas National Guard.
- US citizens, US nationals or individuals who owe allegiance to the United States eligible and willing for immediate transfer to the Texas Air National Guard.

Military Requirements:
For Dual-Status Technician positions service affiliation under Title 32 USC 709 is required.
Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Required:
At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09). Experience, education or training developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of intelligence operations. Experience in administrative, investigative, or technical work which required the applicant to deal effectively with others. Experience collecting, evaluating and organizing pertinent facts and to analyze and prepare clear and concise reports.

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

Trial Period:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to serve a 1- 2 trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider:
- your performance and conduct;
- the needs and interests of the agency;
- whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and
- whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.
Upon completion of your trial period your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
Other Requirements:
For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.
For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES:
--Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance and be eligible for access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI).--Required to fly in military or commercial aircraft.--May be required to work uncommon tours on short notice.
