The primary purpose of this position is an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state AFRC daily operations, training, & to accomplish intelligence functions in support of programs essential to state AFRC daily operations, training & readiness missions.

Duties

- Performs assigned operational intelligence research and analysis and trends and based on thorough understanding of the significance of conditions and trends, develops and projects data and draws meaningful conclusions and clear estimates based on current and past intelligence situations.

- Provides Force Protection (FP) intelligence support to commanders and their staffs through current, all source intelligence products and briefings, focusing on terrorist capabilities, tactics, trends, courses of action and ongoing threat situation in the unit's area of interest.

- Serves as the unit authority on all aspects of internal intelligence training. Works with the Intelligence senior ART/program manager in planning and organizing an intelligence program that provides timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.

- Participates with the intelligence program manager in the establishment and management of the unit intelligence mobility program.

- Supports the intelligence program manager in planning and organizing an intelligence program that has the capability to provide timely and accurate operational intelligence support and fully trained intelligence personnel during peacetime and contingency operations.

  • This position has been identified as a drug testing position. The incumbent of this position may be selected for random drug testing and be subject to reasonable suspicion testing and safety mishap or accident testing.

  • This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. Incumbent’s regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.

Qualifications

ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the Air Force (AF0 Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. They are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. 1N092- SMSgt(E-8).

This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of the principles, concepts, and methodology of the intelligence career field, knowledge of a wide range of analytical principles, concepts, and practices relevant to the intelligence career field typically gained through work experience; knowledge of force protection; classified materials handling; Aerospace Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (AIPB), Predictive Battlespace Awareness (PBA) analysis; mobility/deployment preparations, requirements and materials such as Combat Mission folders; AFRC intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR)computer systems/software; command, control and communications protection; intelligence data collection, validation and production procedures; and project management techniques. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

EDUCATION:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are qualifying for all grade levels for which both education and experience are acceptable.

AND

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of intelligence procedures, methodology, techniques, and strategies including but not limited to: force protection; classified materials handling; Aerospace Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (AIPB) and Predictive Battlespace Awareness (PBA) analysis; mobility/deployment preparations, requirements and materials such as Combat Mission folders; AFRC intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) computer systems/software; command, control and communications protection; intelligence data collection, validation and production procedures; and project management techniques.

2. Broad knowledge of military structure, political affairs and history regarding assigned area when analyzing intelligence data.

3. Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution of real or potential security threats to or problems for program operations. Knowledge of and ability to develop intelligence career field training programs and conduct training and testing.

4. Ability to plan detailed and complex studies, anticipate and solve problems, and to collect, organize, and interrelate large amounts of diversely formatted data drawn from a wide variety of sources.

5. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit. Ability to critically evaluate sources of information and establish validity of facts.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, under both normal and high stress conditions associated with emergency situations.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:

This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position; individuals selected for this an ART position must meet and maintain ART requirement. Applicants for ART position must currently be a member of the Air Force Reserve or willing and eligible to join the Air Force Reserves.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
