Duties

  • You will provide direct, autonomous support to command operations and exercise planners in a Joint Task Force/Joint Force Headquarters environment.
  • You will routinely interface with senior-level customers and decision-makers and conduct routine liaison with counterparts in the fleet/maritime component command, geographic combatant commands (GCC), joint, allied, and coalition organizations.
  • You will serve as the N2 lead deliberate and crisis intelligence planner and work independently, often with minimal or no guidance, on operational planning teams (OPTs) regarding deliberate and crisis planning activities.
  • You will serve as the N2 lead for coordination of intelligence annexes and estimates in support of operations and plans process, generally working independently with minimal oversight and guidance.
  • You will serve as the senior exercise intelligence planner and N2 lead for coordination of personnel support for exercises and training events.
  • You will collaborate with supervisor to define projects and establish work priorities, and all efforts will be reviewed for accuracy and compliance with complex policy guidance and effectiveness to contribute to towards the N2 intelligence mission.

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-12) or pay band in the Federal service. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

  • Providing direct, autonomous intelligence support to command operations and exercise planners in a Joint Task Force/Joint Force Headquarters environment.
  • Conducting routine liaison with counterparts in allied commands and coalition organizations.
  • Representing the division at executive-level briefings, conferences and seminars in support of command operational and exercise planning efforts, in addition to drafting and presenting a wide range of documents, plans, orders and briefs.
  • Serving as the division lead for coordination of intelligence annexes and estimates in support of operations and plans process.
  • Coordinating with and ensuring synchronization of intelligence support, in conjunction with command Operational Planning Teams (OPTs) and Exercise Planning Team (EPT).
