Summary

About the Position: This International Armaments Cooperation Staff Officer position is with the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

The incumbent will serve as an International Armaments Cooperation Staff Officer for the integration of international science and technology in the US Army development process and expert advisor on policies and procedures for the Army's international armaments cooperation activities.

Duties

  • Develop, disseminate, and interpret Army international policy and guidance.
  • Oversee and coordinate International Cooperative Science and Technology programs/activities.
  • Ensure that U.S. Army International On-Line (IOL) records concerning the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) integration are complete and accurate.
  • Presents briefings regarding the development and integration of international solutions.
  • Responsible for the oversight and coordination of the International Cooperative Science and Technology program execution, effectiveness, foreign disclosures and technology transfer that have great significance to DEVCOM.
  • Match potential international technology with Army requirements and ensures those international technology solutions are considered during the materiel development process.
  • Recommend procedures to facilitate vertical and horizontal integration across Future Concepts, DEVCOM teams and Major Subordinate Commands (MSCs).

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
  • Business travel/TDY up to 30% of the time.
  • Must possess or obtain a Level II Certification in the Acquisition Career Field of Program Management within 24 months of appointment.
  • A trial period of one year may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) developing, disseminating, and interpreting international policy and guidance. 2.) overseeing and coordinating Science and Technology programs/activities. AND 3.) presenting briefings concerning international solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level or equivalent position in the federal service (GS-12)

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:


Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
