You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
- Recognizing Joint Staff, DoD, NATO, Coalition, Military Services, and other government agency system and security requirements to provide advice on planning, sustainment, and execution of mission requirements;
- Applying IT system security and collateral security program management and compliance for the application of principles, practices, and techniques, and procedures required during planning meetings, execution events, and post event analysis and report writing;
- Applying IT systems security, INFOSEC processes, and collateral security lifecycle management concepts, practices, and methods in order to develop, monitor, evaluate, perform, independently analyze and resolve security processes;
- Reviewing organizational IT acquisition requirements, budgetary techniques, and financial status sufficient to identify needs, priorities, and recommend adjustment of IT funding as needed.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
