The primary purpose of this position is: Responsible for the execution of wing-wide cybersecurity programs according to DoD directives, validating appropriate measures are taken to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of AFIN IT and the information they process, supporting key cybersecurity disciplines/functions of Air Force Risk Management Framework (RMF), Information Technology (IT).

Duties

Duty 1: Serves as 688 CW Cybersecurity Program Manager. As the 688 CW Cybersecurity Manager; provides centralized oversight and cybersecurity program management supporting AFTN Operations actions taken to design, build, configure, secure, operate, maintain, and sustain AF TT, to include Platform TT (PTT), cyber enabled systems/weapons systems.

Duty 2: Manages cybersecurity requirements for AF Information Network Planning and Procedures.

Duty 3:Serves as recognized authority for Cybersecurity Policy and Compliance.

Duty 4: Oversees 688 CW Cybersecurity Workforce Improvement Program.

  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (CYBERSECURITY) work as a paramount duty requirement.

Qualifications

This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

NOTE: IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE APPLICANT MUST ALSO MEET THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW.

Creditable Experience: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience including: Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices in the information technology/ cybersecurity career field. Such knowledge would be gained through extended graduate study or experience. Skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments, such as developing and articulate technical direction and approaches to formulating interoperability plans, implementation plans, and contingency plans involving communications and connectivity between major command and controls systems. The employees comprehensive, intensive, and practical knowledge of a cybersecurity operations will be utilized to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures within the scope of the organizational mission requirements. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles, concepts, and methods; as well as expert knowledge of system network architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods.

2. Expert knowledge of and demonstrated the ability to contribute to cybersecurity development, interpretation and application of Federal, DOD and Service regulations and policy, program directives and guidance materials relevant to the USAF cyberspace missions.

3. Understanding of AF Information Technology operations in order to secure network and information systems as well as detect and/or mitigate IT and cyberspace vulnerabilities. Expert cybersecurity knowledge and experience in IT related disciplines of COMPUSEC, TEMPEST, and Risk Management Framework.

4. Expert knowledge of the organization's cybersecurity policy and planning formulation processes, along with its mission and objectives to prepare cybersecurity policies and plans.

5. Expert ability to analyze, plan, organize, direct, and adjust program functions and appraise management in order to meet cybersecurity workforce requirements and objectives within available resources.

6. Expert knowledge of the AF cybersecurity inspection/evaluation methodologies in order to manage, develop, and implement an 688 CW Cybersecurity assessment program for oversight, adherence to DOD policies and standards.


PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
